Centclose reconciles Shopify Payments payouts. It reads the money side of a store and nothing else — no customers, no products, no order contents — and it keeps almost none of what it reads.

What Centclose stores

Three things, and this is the complete list:

  • An access token per store. When you install Centclose, Shopify issues a token that lets the app read your payouts. It is kept in Centclose’s database alongside your .myshopify.com domain and the permissions you granted, so you do not have to re-authorize on every visit.
  • Your settings. Account names, date format and journal mode are stored on your own store as an app-owned metafield — on Shopify’s side, not Centclose’s. Shopify deletes it when you uninstall.
  • The cost figures you type in, if you use the Costs page. A cost-of-goods percentage, a cost per order, the fixed costs you list (a name, an amount, a cadence and dates) and ad spend you import from a CSV (a day, a channel name and an amount per row, plus the file’s name). These are kept in Centclose’s database, keyed to your store, so the profit view can be computed on each visit. They are your own numbers about your own business; they contain no customer, order or product data, and the ad-spend import keeps only day, channel and amount — campaign names and every other column in the file are discarded.

What Centclose reads but never keeps

Payouts, the balance transactions behind them, your store’s name and currency, and your subscription status are fetched from Shopify while you have a page open, held in memory long enough to do the arithmetic, and discarded when the response is sent. Nothing is cached, warehoused or copied anywhere. Close the tab and the only place those numbers exist is Shopify.

The QuickBooks CSV is built the moment you click download and streamed straight to your browser. No copy is retained.

What Centclose never asks for

Centclose requests exactly two permissions: read_shopify_payments_accounts and read_shopify_payments_payouts. Both are read-only. It has no access to customer records, email addresses, shipping addresses, payment methods, order contents or products, because it never asks for them — Shopify would refuse if it tried.

The one place a customer-adjacent detail appears is the order number attached to a transaction (for example #1042), so you can trace a line back to the sale that produced it. No name, no contact details, no card data.

What Centclose never writes

Centclose does not connect to QuickBooks, Xero or any accounting system. It produces a file. You review it and you import it, or you do not. That boundary is deliberate: an app that writes to your ledger can put a wrong number in your books without anyone reading it first.

The only thing Centclose writes to Shopify is your own settings, on your own store.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Centclose from your Shopify admin deletes the stored token immediately — the app is told the moment it happens and removes every session for your store. Forty-eight hours later Shopify sends the app itsshop/redact notice and every cost figure and imported ad-spend row for your store is deleted as well. Shopify removes the settings metafield along with the app. Once that is done Centclose holds nothing about your store at all.

You can also remove cost data yourself at any time: each ad-spend import can be undone from the Costs page, and fixed costs and cost settings can be removed or cleared there.

You can also email yasserbu2025@gmail.com and ask, and the same deletion is done by hand.

Sub-processors

Centclose runs on two services, and neither receives payout data:

  • Vercel — hosting. Standard request logs (URL, timestamp, IP) as any web host keeps.
  • Supabase — the Postgres database holding access tokens and, for stores that use the Costs page, the cost figures described above.

There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third party is sent anything about your store.

Payments

Subscriptions are billed by Shopify and appear on your Shopify invoice. Centclose never sees a card number and never handles a payment.
